It's an obvious fact that if we want to preserve our civil liberties at the ballot box, all Americans must be educated in how our own government works. Unfortunately the very government that would deprive us of our rights and trample the Constitution is also in charge of educating our kids. 81% of American students attend public schools, and most of them are not receiving an adequate Civics education.

We need to push our public schools to change this at the local level, but all of us are responsible to make certain our own kids are prepared for citizenship, and also to encourage an interest in civics in our sphere of influence.
