This quote, often attributed in different form to Thomas Jefferson, actually originated in 1700s Ireland. But it has since been repeated in various versions by American leaders and activists, most famously by the American Abolitionist Wendell Phillips on January 28, 1852.

Wherever it came from, it's dead right and we agree with it. Through the process of incrementalism, we can document the increasing deterioration of certain Constitutionally guaranteed individual rights. Our liberty is worn away over time by the unrelenting erosion of intrusive government, seemingly without notice or comment by most Americans.

The best thing any of us can do is to stand firm on the Constitution and refuse to be silent or to be moved.
